While conventional BESS solutions passively respond to grid fluctuations, Lingtech’s new system takes a giant leap forward with intelligent, autonomous energy management.
The system fully supports Grid Forming mode, enabling it to establish its own voltage and frequency reference in complete off-grid scenarios. Even in the absence of a utility grid, the system can activate PV arrays through black start functionality, ensuring continuous solar power generation during daylight hours to supply critical loads, while battery reserves take over at night – providing 24/7 power continuity without any reliance on the external grid.
Seamlessly integrating solar PV, utility grid, and diesel generators, the BESS automatically synchronizes all energy sources. Upon grid outage, it executes sub-second transfer to island mode and intelligently coordinates diesel generator deployment with battery dispatch – maximizing solar utilization while dramatically reducing fuel consumption and electricity costs. The system supports rapid switching between Grid Following and Grid Forming modes on demand, adapting to dynamic grid conditions in real time.
In a breakthrough for space-constrained installations, Lingtech has integrated the entire 500kW Power Conversion System (PCS) and 1.1MWh battery rack into a single 10-foot container – significantly smaller than conventional alternatives.
