China Completes Its First 100 MWh Sodium-Ion Battery Energy Storage Station

[Shenzhen, China – October 2025] – China has officially completed its first 100 MWh sodium-ion battery energy storage station, marking a milestone in the nation’s clean-energy transition and the global development of next-generation storage technology.

The project adopts HaiNa Battery’s advanced sodium-ion cells, representing one of the largest commercial deployments of sodium-ion energy storage in the world. Compared with traditional lithium-ion (LiFePO₄) systems, sodium-ion batteries offer lower cost, safer chemistry, superior low-temperature performance, and abundant raw-material supply, making them ideal for large-scale renewable-energy storage.

As part of this technological wave, Lingtech Group has also announced that it has begun integrating HaiNa’s sodium-ion battery cells into its modular BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) product line for global clients. Lingtech’s sodium-ion BESS solutions—ranging from 215 kWh / 100 kW to 4 MWh / 2 MW configurations—are designed for commercial, industrial, and grid-support applications worldwide.
